Frequently asked questions

Why should I work with you rather than any other editor?
You’re right to look for someone who’ll be a good fit for you. I’m an author who has successfully self-published my own contemporary fiction. I’ve been practising and studying the craft of writing for many years and been an avid reader for as long as I’ve been able to read (don’t worry, that is since the age of four!). I have experience in providing critiques for other writers. My advice will be realistic, practical, encouraging and good value. My aim is to help you become a better writer and your book the best it can be.
Why might you turn my project down?
I can’t take on everything and if I’m too busy, don’t feel well placed to help you, there are too many similarities with my own writing (I don’t steal ideas, but would hate to find myself in the position of being open to accusation of having done so), or the subject matter isn’t to my taste (e.g. horror), I may have to say ‘no, thanks’. Where possible, I’ll point you in the direction of another editor who may be able to help.
When/how do I pay?
I’ll invoice you once you agree to my quote and expect payment in full before starting work. Payment can be made by bank transfer if you’re in the UK or via PayPal if you’re overseas.
